Many activities against child labour are reported worldwide to the IPEC-ILO. Here are some pictures that have been sent to us. Thanks a lot to their authors and to all the ones who took part to the World Day 2010.

While the global movement has achieved much progress in reducing the incidence of child labour, efforts must be stepped up if we are to deliver the commitment of a world free of the worst forms of child labour by 2016. In order to meet that challenge, the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, in close collaboration with the ILO (and in cooperation with UNICEF and the World Bank), is organizing a global conference on child labour to be held in The Hague (The Netherlands) on 10 and 11 May 2010. Africa has the highest incidence of child labour in the world, further complicated by high rates of HIV. But some Sub-Saharan African countries like Uganda have been world leaders in getting children out of child labour and into primary school through a National Child Labour Policy that specifically addresses HIV.
