The Japanese Trade Union Confederation (RENGO) supported the implementation of the Education and Social Mobilisation Programme “SCREAM” in three countries in the Asian region: Nepal, Cambodia and Indonesia. Launched by the International Labour Organization, International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO/IPEC) in 2002, “SCREAM” is the acronym for Supporting Children’s Rights through Education, the Arts and the Media and has become a widely used and highly effective programme for engaging children, education sectors and civil society movements in efforts to eliminate and prevent child labour.
