Why combatting child labour ?
As specified in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, child labour is an abuse of children’s fundamental rights. Child labour is defined in ILO Conventions.  Child labour is work that children should not be doing because they are too young too work - or if they are old enough to work - because it is dangerous or otherwise unsuitable for them.

Purpose

The main purpose of the Portal is to inform, create awareness and bring together the action taken by the various groups of people (“communities”) against child labour and to promote child rights. The Portal provides a gateway for meaningful child participation and youth empowerment both in developing and industrialized countries and enables young people and adults to work together in the process of change for the better.
