Youth in Action
Every year on June 12th, we take the time to recognise the problem of child labour around the world. But it's not about remembering once a year that there are kids who have to work in horrible conditions and never get the chance to go to school. What counts is what we do to help these kids all year round, from June 12th of this year to June 12th of next year, and the year after, and the year after that...
Did you know that:
* 218 million children around the world have to go to work?
* 126 million of these girls and boys work in very dangerous places?
* these kids' lives can be changed with your help? Yes you!
How, you might ask?
Well, just by knowing that a problem exists is a real good place to start. And if the fact that you know about child labour helps, then you can imagine how much it would help if all your friends knew too! And then what about your parents, and teachers, and aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, everyone!
But knowing about the problem is only the first step. A problem doesn't fix itself does it? We've gotta do something in order to solve a problem. We have to ACT! But what can you do? Well, only you know the answer to that. (But I can give you hint... Register and log-in to find out what other young people have done!)
After registering, you can view stuff that other young people have done and even add your own things!
Calling all young people! Did you know that there are places where unprotected children work long hours instead of going to school? No? Well other young people just like you have joined the fight against child labour! Wanna help? Click here to find out how!
